COVERING ALL AUTO, WORK & SPORTS INJURIES

Fortunately, most accidents or injuries do not require hospitalization. Usually one will experience some initial pain, stiffness or a few bruises, and in a week all is forgotten. Or perhaps not. All too frequently, lifelong health problems begin as a fall or bump that was dismissed as minor at that time. These type of injuries can lead to long term disabilities and should not be ignored. It's important to get checked no matter what to ensure no serious damage. Before what appears to be a minor sports injury turns into a lifelong festival of pain and angst, consider visiting a physical therapy clinic.
Even when there are no broken bones or bleeding, spinal and neurological damage may be present. That is why it's so important to have a spinal checkup whenever you have suffered an injury, accident, or a fall. No matter how minor the incident, spinal damage should not be ruled out to protect your long term health. Here at Premier Total Healthcare, our services in physical rehabilitation in Hollywood have all your injuries & rehabilitation needs covered especially when it comes to accidents.

Automobile Injuries
Hyperflexion & extension injuries commonly know as "Whiplash" is one of the most common injuries suffered as a result of a car accident. This happens when an impact throws or forces the head and neck violently in one direction, then the muscles react to "whip" it back in the opposite direction. Usually the neck is what suffers the most, but any part of the spine can be affected. Muscles, tendons, vertebral discs and ligaments as well as other soft tissues are often damage or injured during an automobile accident.
The initial symptoms may not seem severe at first, usually a sore or stiff neck followed by headaches a few hours after the accident is normal. Pain or numbness in the arms and hands may occur. Dizziness, ringing in the ears and blurred vision has also been reported. In severe whiplash, a concussion may also occur. This is the result of the brain being slammed against the inside of the skull. Concussion symptoms include mood swings, restlessness, anxiety, depression and headaches, which may last hours or even days after the accident.
It is extremely important to seek medical attention after any automobile accident to ensure no serious or severe injuries that can cause later symptoms or future health issues.
Sports Injuries
The injuries received in a contact sport such as football, hockey or even working out are often the same type you might suffer in an auto accident. The body is subjected to a forceful impact. When an arm or leg is fractured, the bone is set and in time, it heals. When a vertebrae is damaged or displace in the neck or back, it may not be detected until much later. When this creates pressure on adjacent nerves, other health problems are sure to follow.
Work Injuries
On the job injuries related to overuse, strain, and falls contribute greatly to lost time and are the source of suffering to many. Our Florida workers compensation certified physicians have the skill and knowledge necessary to assist in helping the injured worker heal from their injuries and get back to work as soon as possible. Chiropractic care, Physical Therapy and Physical Medicine are used to provide the most complete healing and recovery from these type of injuries. We also teach job place safety skills such as proper lifting techniques and accident avoidance tips to assist the work place environment.
Slip & Fall Injuries
When a person suffers a slip and fall injury, they often suffer trauma to the bones, joints, muscles and ligaments along with the nervous system from the impact of the fall. This trauma can cause misalignments in the spine and interruptions in the signals within the nervous system. If you have back pain after a slip and fall injury, it’s best to receive chiropractic treatment or further investigation to prevent long term injuries.
